LED THROWIES

LED Throwies are an inexpensive way to add color to any ferromagnetic surface in your neighborhood. A Throwie consists of a lithium battery, a 10mm diffused LED and a rare-earth magnet taped together. Throw it up high and in quantity to impress your friends and city officials.

The London-based architect and artist Usman Haque designs interactive architectural systems and is interested in the ways that people relate to each other and to their surrounding space. In 2004, he launched Sky Ear in London, a non-rigid carbon-fibre “cloud” embedded with one thousand LED-infused helium balloons. Janne Kyttänen & Mads Thomsen have designed this suggestive creation for the Onitsuka Tiger “Electric Tiger Land” campaign.
Within 1m, 70cm, 40 cm-long shoes, they hold a chaotic and lively japenese city brimming with a multitude of visual and iconographic symbols.
